Please briefly introduce yourself (major, school, current job, etc.)
Hello! I’m a C++ developer currently working in Canada. I majored in Computer Science at a local college, and before joining my current company, I had a four-month internship experience.
How were you preparing for a job before discovering DrawDream?
After graduation, I found it really difficult to adjust to life in Canada, so I could barely start my job search. As time went on, my career gap got longer, and even after sending out many applications, I couldn’t pass the screening stage. I was almost ready to give up.
How did you first learn about DrawDream?
I learned about DrawDream through a friend who had successfully found a job with their help.
Why did you decide to register for DrawDream?
I was at the point where I told myself, “If I can’t make it here, I’ll switch to another field.” I joined DrawDream with a last bit of hope — as if grabbing onto a final chance.
How long did it take to get a job after starting with DrawDream, and how was the process?
It took about seven months in total. Since I was starting almost from scratch, it took me a while just to get to the point of submitting applications. But that also meant I was building a much stronger foundation. Through the process, I realized how much I had grown — both technically and mentally.
Which part of the DrawDream program would you recommend the most?
The live coding interview preparation helped me the most. At first, I had no idea how to even start preparing, but with structured guidance and feedback, I gradually built confidence.
What are your future career goals or plans?
I’m fortunate to have met great mentors at my current company, and I’m learning a lot every day. For now, my goal is to keep strengthening my technical foundation and continue growing as a developer.
What does DrawDream mean to you?
To me, DrawDream was “an opportunity that helped me try again when I was ready to give up.” I truly wouldn’t have come this far on my own.
How did DrawDream’s North American coaches provide unique support?
The advice from coaches who actually work as developers in North America was incredibly realistic and practical. Since I had little to no interview experience, their step-by-step guidance helped me build confidence and prepare effectively.
How useful were the scripts or model answers provided by DrawDream?
At first, I thought my own answers were fine — but after receiving feedback from my coach, I realized how much they could be improved. By applying the feedback and refining my answers, my interview responses became much stronger, and that led to real results.
Was there anything particularly impressive during your preparation with DrawDream?
Yes, my coach gave me feedback not only during scheduled meetings but also in between sessions. That ongoing support helped me understand how to approach interview questions more naturally — and that left a lasting impression.
Have you stayed in touch with DrawDream after getting a job?
Yes, even after getting hired, I continued to stay in touch with my coach while adjusting to my new company. Their advice was very helpful during the early adaptation period.
What would you realistically tell others who are preparing for jobs like you were?
Job preparation is an investment — both in time and effort. But it truly pays off. I’d encourage anyone who’s feeling stuck or exhausted from doing it alone to seek proper guidance early on. It can save you a lot of time and make all the difference.
