šŸŽ™ļø Landed a Developer Job in Canada in Just 4 Months!

ā€œIf I had done this alone, I’d probably still be lost.ā€

ā€œIn a pool of applicants with similar skills, what set me apart were the details of my preparation.ā€

— From DrawDream Post-Offer Interview after Receiving a Silicon Valley Offer

After receiving a final offer from a U.S. tech company developing AI-based services in Canada, YoungjunĀ shared his journey. As a computer science graduate from Korea, he started his job hunt alone — and within just three to four months of joining DrawDream, he landed an offer from a Silicon Valley startup. Here’s his story.

Q. Hello! Could you briefly introduce yourself?

Hi, I’m Youngjun. I majored in Computer Science at a university in Korea. After graduation, I wanted to build a global career, so I started preparing for jobs in Canada. I’ve recently accepted an offer from an AI startup based in Silicon Valley and will be starting soon.

Q. I heard you started preparing on your own at first?

Yes. In the beginning, I was completely lost. I tried to prepare for interviews by studying LeetCode problems, reading Glassdoor reviews, and browsing Reddit threads — but I had no idea whether I was heading in the right direction. Looking back, it was a long stretch of inefficiency.

Q. How did you discover DrawDream?

I came across a post about DrawDream in an online community. The line ā€œExperienced developers will personally guide youā€ caught my eye, so I reached out — and honestly, it changed my life.

Q. What was the biggest change after working with DrawDream?

My interview performance completely transformed. I realized that coding skills alone aren’t enough — being able to explain your reasoning clearlyĀ and stay composed during interviews is just as important.

They also helped me connect my past projects to my strengths, organizing stories I would have never been able to pull out on my own. That made a huge difference during interviews.

Q. How long did it take you to get an offer?

I started working with DrawDream in mid-January and received my Silicon Valley AI startup offer about three to four months later. I applied to around 70 companies, made it to the final interview at two, and accepted one offer.

The compensation package is about 90K base with a total of around 110K including bonuses, which I’m very happy with for my first full-time role.

Q. Which part of the program helped you the most?

Two things stood out the most:

  1. Live Coding Interview Practice — It wasn’t just about solving problems but about learning how to explain my thought process out loud.

  2. Behavioral Interview Coaching — I didn’t realize how hard it was to articulate ā€œwhat I didā€ clearly. But after organizing my stories and rehearsing together, I was able to answer confidently in real interviews.

Q. What did you think about DrawDream’s coaching system?

They didn’t just tell me whatĀ to prepare — they guided me on when and howĀ to prepare.

Weekly check-ins, structured feedback, and progress reviews made it feel like I had an actual teammate helping me through the job hunt.

Q. Would you recommend DrawDream to others?

Absolutely.

If I had prepared alone, I would have wasted so much time on trial and error. DrawDream quickly identified my weaknesses and helped me become competitive in real interviews.

After landing my job, I even got to attend a company-wide resort workshop in Silicon Valley — that’s when it truly hit me: ā€œI did it.ā€.

Q. Any advice for people currently preparing for jobs?

The market may seem tough right now, but opportunities always come — and they come faster to those who are ready.

Technical skills are expected, but being able to articulate those skills during the interviewĀ is the real competitive edge.

DrawDream helped me master exactly that.

✨ In Closing

From a new graduate in Korea facing an uncertain future to a developer now working in Silicon Valley — Youngjun’s four-month transformation shows how the right guidance and detailed preparation can make all the difference. At the center of that journey was DrawDream.
